Business students take third at competition

Fort Hays State University held their annual business competition on April 9. Eighteen schools from all over Kansas participated in several events.
Twenty students from Hays High competed in 15 different events. Hays High brought home twenty-four awards.
“I am very proud of everyone,” said teacher Suzanne Stark.
In beginning accounting, senior Caitlin Braun placed third, sophomore Amanda Groff placed sixth and junior Crystal Hutchison placed eighth. In advanced accounting, senior Elizabeth Kreutzer placed second, senior Stephanie Onyeador placed sixth and junior Bryan Tsao placed eighth.
In the Microsoft Word competition, sophomore Rachel Cunningham placed fourth. In general business, Kreutzer placed fifth, Groff placed sixth, and senior Ed Kuhn placed eighth.
Braun also placed fifth in computer concepts. In business math, Kreutzer placed first and Groff placed seventh. In business etiquette, senior Rachel Lantis placed first, Hutchinson placed third and junior Aubrey Augustine also placed.
In business communications, Hutchison placed first and sophomore Jared Wasinger placed seventh. In entrepreneurship, senior Brogan Miller placed sixth and in economics Kuhn placed third.
Overall Hays High placed third at the competition.
