Students seek employent at career expo
by JOHN COOK
Students looking for career opportunities had the opportunity to attend the Employment Expo in the Mall on April 10.
The Expo was comprised of 43 booths from all manners of business in Hays and the surrounding areas, with the intention of exposing job opportunities to the community. The booths represented diverse areas of work including manufacturing, communications, medical, and more.
“We’re really happy with how the Expo was set up this year,” said Kansas Works representative Linda Koci, who was in charge of the project. “We tried something like this two years ago called the Hays Job Fair, but we weren’t able to get as many companies to participate. We also felt that the name would discourage companies operating outside Hays from participating.”
The organization of the Expo was a joint effort of the local business community, spearheaded by Kansas Works and Hays Has Jobs.
