Chamber Singers perform at benefit concert
by KAYLEA PALLISTER

On April 19, the HHS Chamber Singers, Singing Irish Falcons, and Shawnee Mission East Chamber Singers held a benefit concert for First Call for Help. The concert was held at the First United Methodist Church in Hays, and all proceeds were made through generous donations. At the end of the concert, $1,868 was raised for First Call for Help.

The idea of holding a benefit concert was developed by the directors of the Singing Irish Falcons and Shawnee Mission East Chamber Singers, Johnny Matlock and Tracy Resseguie, respectively.

“As the director, (I saw) it was really fun for the kids to see a group similar to their size from Western KS,” said HHS Chamber Singer director Elise Peterson.

Peterson was very pleased with the outcome of the concert and thought it was a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved.
