Boys soccer wins thriller at Garden City

Baseball splits with South

Hays baseball split with the Salina South baseball team on Tuesday. They lost the first game 5-4 and won the second game 7-4. Freshman Hayden Hutchinson had a complete game as pitcher in the first game. Hays will host their first round regional game which is to be decided still.

The Hays girls soccer team won at Dodge City in double overtime 2-1 on Tuesday. Freshman April Johnson scored the first goal in the 27th minute of the game. Hays senior Tanner Willhoft was named the Western Diamond Classic’s top player. The team overall went 4-0 to win the tournament. On the first day of the tournament Hays played Colby and Ellis. The Hays girls soccer team lost in the title game of the Wichita North Cup 2-1 to Wichita-Trinity. At halftime the score was 1-0 in favor of Hays on a goal by senior Jayme Hansen in the 27th minute. The Hays girls soccer team won 1-0 over Wichita North in the Wichita North Cup on Thursday. Senior Jessie Steffen scored the only goal of the game in the 9th minute. The Indians will play in the championship on Saturday at 3:00 P.M. against Wichita Trinity.
