If an interest in something new has come up, I encourage you to watch the classic movie “Some Like It Hot.” This movie, directed by Billy Wilder, stars Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon.

some_like_it_hotStarting in Chicago, two guys named Joe (Curtis) and Jerry (Lemmon) witness a shooting and look for any gig that can get them as far from Chicago as possible.

When the opportunity to flee to Florida comes up, the boys take it and also make some sacrifices. They have to dress up as women Josephine and Daphne and participate in an-all women jazz band.

The conflict begins when they both fall for Sugar (Monroe). However, Josephine (Curtis) attracts and older man and Daphne (Lemmon) attracts the hotel waiter. On the contrary, Daphne is determined to win Sugar’s heart as himself, Joe. At the same time they must not blow their cover.

This is one mixed up mumble, jumble. It’s full of fabulous music and singing. I enjoyed the performance that Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon gave. They were great at making you laugh and were very talented over all.

I would recommend this movie to anybody that can get through the fact that it is black and white and that likes to see guys in makeup wearing dresses. It is a great production that will have you laughing until the very last line.
