Music, art and festivities all in the name of cats. On Aug. 29th at, Northern Frontier Park, will be KATZE: a music and art festival and fundraiser to help trap, neuter, and return a portion of the stray cats around the FHSU campus.
“I have heard and seen some of the horrible things that happen to cats,” said creator and FHSU sophomore Brendon McCambell. “Anything from being hit by a car or being shot for fun. I think trap-neuter-return is a positive way to improve the lives of local cats.”
The FHSU Cat Program is aiming to better the lives of free-ranging cats by trapping, spaying, then returning the cats back to their most comfortable habitat.
“The goal is to raise $1,000 and vaccinate 20 cats, but of course the ultimate goal is to help all feral cats on campus,” McCambell said.
Admission, concessions, and entertainment is all free-of-charge, but donations are strongly encouraged. Eight local and state wide bands will be performing at the festival along with local artists.
