To honor local heroes around the community, cheerleaders decided to put on a heroes pep rally Friday, Sept. 11 at Lewis Field stadium before the football game.
Firemen, EMTs, police officers and all community emergency response workers were invited to join the cheerleader’s at the before game barbecue.
“We as a community just need to realize that these people do an outstanding job whenever they are called upon,” cheer coach Twyla Ricke said. “The whole idea of the pep rally stems from it being National Cheer Association week.”
