Eighth-graders from Felten and Kennedy Middle Schools nervously wandered the halls of Hays High on Wednesday, Feb. 26 as they were guided by students from Leadership Team.

“I had fun leading the 8th graders around,” junior Taylor Stewart said. “I enjoy being in the leadership role, and it was a great opportunity for that.”

Members of Leadership Team were assigned four to five eighth graders to go over enrollment material with, lead around the school, and answer any questions or fears the young students might have.

“I tried to make them feel comfortable about talking with me,” junior Max Haverfield said.

Following the tour the eighth-graders attended the Indian Call games assembly and then braved the school cafeteria.

“It brought back memories from middle school and freshman year,” Stewart said. “I got that excited springtime feeling again.”

Next week a few members of Leadership Team will go the middle-schools to help the eighth graders enroll online.
