Super Bowl Reactions

As the highly-anticipated Super Bowl game and parties come to an end, the reactions of the win starts setting in and buzzes around the school. During the game between the power house teams New England Patriots and the New York Giants the outcome was up in the air until the last few minutes of the fourth quarter.
With just over four minutes left, the Patriots had the ball. It was second and 11 and the team threw the ball, causing an incomplete pass that cost the team the game. The Giants won 21 – 17.
But there are more than just hardcore football fans taking part in the Super Bowl hoopla. And while some take part in arguments over which is better, New England or New York, others take part in a different part of the game, which seems to be just as highly anticipated.
“I kind of just watched it for the commercials and the half-time show,” senior Catherine Waring said. “They both were pretty good, better than last year’s at least.”
And even something as trivial as the $30 million dollar commercials playing every few minutes can cause controversy among the students who took time to tune in.
“I was at my sister’s house and it was on so I watched it,” junior Jenifer Briggs said. “But I don’t care about football, and this year the commercials were stupid. So was the half time show actually.”
And along the disappointed students who just happened to tune in, some football fanatic students weren’t so excited to see all the mistakes causing a tragic loss by New England.
“Giants shouldn’t have won,” senior Zachary Brungardt said. “Patriots fumbled quite a bit, they would have won if they didn’t make so many stupid mistakes.”
While the sad students begin to build up hope for the next season, other students take through the halls with excitement the days after the victory of their NFL favorites.
“I’m glad the Giants won,” senior Cody Lubbers said. “They deserved it more than any other team.”
