Students talk about the environment

Pollution in our environment is slowly becoming a bigger issue as the amount of people being born increases and more habitats are being compromised.

Some students feel that people trying to help the environment isn’t helping at all and that we should just leave all the work to the programs.

“The fact that we try to help the environment doesn’t help at all,” junior Micheal Epke said.

Other students feel that we should try harder to keep our environment clean and that we can make our trash into something useful instead of making new items and allowing trash to pile up.

“We need to do more recycling, pick up the trash, and stop littering,” senior Hector Vazquez said.

According to online sources humans around the world put 30 billion tons of CO2 in the air every year and deforestation threatens some species and habitats.

“Animals are dying and the climate is getting worse,” sophomore Karolynn Wolfe said.

As individuals we do what we can by picking up our trash and sometimes recycling, and there are many organizations that help clean up and or recycle trash as well as quite a few celebrities that donate to such organizations.

“I don’t think any less needs to be done,” junior Josh Jacobs said. “But we’re a step in the right direction,”
