Soccer wins McPherson Tourney

The Indian soccer team won in the finals of the McPherson Invitational against Wichita Trinity 2-0 on Saturday.

The soccer team shut out a Wichita Trinity squad that scored four goals and five goals in the other two tournament games, while Hays scored two goals and two goals in the other two games.

Senior Adam Adams scored in the 17th minute off of a cross by junior Devin Schmidt. Schmidt scored in the 37th minute on a breakaway assisted by junior Trey Herman.

The Indians had four people make the all-tournament team: senior Joaquin Guzman, and  juniors Devin Schmidt, Caden Junk and Jordan Burgess.

The next soccer action will be Monday at home against Great Bend.
