The Indian soccer team tied Garden city 3-3 in Hays on Tuesday.
With the Indians starting off the scoring in the first half by junior Trey Herman off of a long throw by junior Jordan Burgess. The Buffaloes struck back later in the half with a shot going off the near post and with Burgess attempting to clear it accidentally hitting it into his own goal.
At half time the score of the game was 1-1 with the Indians having more goal scoring opportunities.
Garden City scored the first goal of the second half. While for most of the season once the Indians would get behind they usually folded, it was a different story Tuesday.
The Indians responded with Herman having another goal with an assist from Burgess.
Later in the half Garden City scored again giving them a 3-2 lead. With the Indians being under pressure late in the game Senior Christian Bills rocketed a shot near post beating Garden City’s keeper making the game 3-3.
The game then went into two ten minute overtimes with neither team being able to score.
For the first time ever the Indians finish winless in WAC with a record of 0-6-2 in WAC. The next soccer action is Thursday against Elyria at home with varsity being the only game to be played.
