Early sports conditioning

Maybe it’s just a bit too early to start conditioning for spring sports; maybe not. There are almost a billion different opinions on whether it’s okay to start working on a sport nearly a full season ahead of schedule. While the coaches themselves can’t do much, assistants or friends are able to put in the hours and help the team out. But is that what the players actually want?
“I think it’s a good idea to start early because a lot of people need to get in shape,” sophomore Angelica Hernandez said. “I know that Garden City starts conditioning early, and to be able to match them we should do the same.
While there are plenty of opportune moments to work out before season, it all depends on the effort being put forth and the stress a coach puts on the amount of work athletes need to do before tryouts.
