Soccer loses in semis

The Hays High girls soccer team lost in the semifinals of the McPherson tournament 2-1 on penalty kicks against Andover Central.
Freshman Megan Bird scored the first goal of the game in the 21st minute off of a header.
Andover Central then tied the game with a goal in the 44th minute.
The game remained a deadlock through the rest of the game and two 10-minute overtimes.
In the penalty kicks Andover Central won 3-0 giving them the win.
The next game for the girls is on Saturday at 4 p.m., where they will play for third place in the tournament.
