Indians fall in penalty kicks

The lady Indians soccer team lost in the third place game of the McPherson Invitational tournament to Newton 1-0 in penalty kicks.
Hays High dominated Newton in the number of shots they had, but were unable to convert on any of them.
In the 48th minute of the game freshman Bree Kiser had a shot go off the crossbar and rebound out. Two minutes later senior Jayme Hansen had a shot that went just over the bar.
During the two overtimes the Indians only allowed Newton to have one shot, while Hays High had a number of shots.
For the penalty kicks Hays High made two while Newton made four. Newton made the first four of their penalties. For Hays high senior Shelby Sulzman made the first one for the Indians, then came senior Jessie Steffen who missed hers, followed by sophomore Alexyss leiker who made hers, then Kiser who missed, while Senior Ellie Kasra didn’t get to shoot hers, after the Indians were already down 4-2 and where unable to come back.
The next game for the lady Indians is Tuesday at home against Dodge City.
