Volleyball goes 3-0 at Dodge City Quad on Sept. 11

The Lady Indian volleyball squad recently traveled to Dodge City on Sept. 11 to participate in the Dodge City Quad against Sublette, Dodge City and Lakin. The team gained victories over all three of the other teams, continuing their season with 8-0.

Against Sublette, the Indians won in straight games with 25-13 and 25-19 decisions. Junior Kylie Brown had seven kills and six aces for the match, while junior Albany Schaffer had a total of six digs. Meanwhile, juniors Madison Prough and Taylor Groen-Younger had nine and seven assists, respectively.

The team then continued the evening, winning a pair of victories against Dodge City, 25-18 and 25-20. Junior Tessa Stickel and Brown each had six kills and Schaffer had 10 digs. Prough put up seven assists.

In the last game against Lakin, the Indians opened with a 25-16 decision in the first match but suffered a setback with a 21-25 decision, sending the game into three matches. In the final and deciding match, the squad pulled out a 25-15 decision, concluding their night at 3-0. Junior Audra Schmeidler, Stickel and Parish each had five kills. Parish also had five blocks. Prough had seven assists, while Schaffer put up 13 digs and five aces.

The next action for the Lady Indians will be on Sept. 16 at Hays High.
