Indians place first at Garden City Invitational

The lady Indian golf team place first at the Garden City Invitational Sept. 18

The lady golfers totaled for a 18 holes of 372 leading the way with Garden City trailing by one stroke with a total of 373. Goodland finished third with a 392, next with a 428 from Great Bend. Other teams were Dodge City, 447; Syracuse, 455; Ulysses, 464; Lakin, 472; Liberal, 481.

The individual medalists were junior Taylor DeBoer placing second with a score of 90. Sophomore Rhian Patterson placed third with a 90.  Senior Lexie Schaben placed 8th with a score of 94. Sophomore Katie Brundgardt place 10th with a score of 98. Seniors Elissa Jensen and Macie Mayo scored a 106 and a 115.

As of Sept. 18 in the Garden City Invitational, the WAC standings are Hays in first place with 15 points, Garden City following with 12 points. Great Bend is in third with 9 points. The other schools are Dodge City, 6 points and Liberal, 3 points.

Individuals in the WAC standings, sophomore Rhian Patterson is in third with 36.5, sophomore Katie Brungardt is in fourth with 33 points and in fifth place is junior Taylor DeBoer with 29 points. The Indian golf team will go to the Colby Invitational Sept. 22.
