Indians suffer district loss to Buhler

The Indians suffered their first loss of the season Friday night, a 55-21 defeat at Buhler in first-round district action.

With the loss, the Indians dropped to 6-1 overall heading into Friday’s game against Abilene (6-1) at Lewis Field Stadium.

Buhler jumped out to a 35-14 lead after scoring on its first five possessions. The Indians first-half scores came on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Alex Delton to Hayden Kruetzer and a 64-yard scoring pass from Delton to Keith Dryden late in the second half.

After the break, Buhler opened the third quarter with a 59-yard drive, followed by another pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take a 55-14 advantage.

Hays scored its final touchdown midway through the final quarter to make the final, 55-21.
