Anna Shippy: Co-Editor-in-Chief

Anna Shippy is a senior and is excited to be Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Guidon. This is her third year on staff. Anna is involved in Spirit Club, Leadership Team, Stuco, National Honor Society and is captain of the dance team. She is also a Sunflower Bank Community Ambassador. Outside of school she enjoys dancing for Jackie Creamer’s Vision Dance Company. In her spare time she enjoys dancing, taking walks with her dog and hanging out with her boyfriend.

Kellen Griffin: Co-Editor-in-Chief

Kellen Griffin is a senior and is going into his third full year on staff with the Newspaper. He is one of the Co-Editors-in-Chief. Other than Newspaper he is involved in Soccer, Intramurals, Student Council, Math Relays, National Honor Society and is a Community Ambassador. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, video games and hanging out with his girlfriend.

Delphine Burns: News Editor

Delphine Burns is a senior and News Editor of The Guidon. This is her third year writing for the paper and she adores journalism. She is also involved in Chamber Singers, National Honor Society, Musical, Spring Play and is an officer of the Gay-Straight Alliance. In her free time, Delphine enjoys playing guitar and hanging out with friends. Her favorite pastimes include cruising in her convertible while listening to the Beach Boys, eating lots of apples and playing monopoly. She plans to attend Pitzer College in Claremont, California in the fall of 2013. In the future, Delphine would like to either be a journalist or a musician. She plans to own two hairless cats, named Batman and Spatula. Delphine also thinks sharks are really cool.

Kylee Filley: Sports Editor

Kylee Filley is a senior this year. She enjoys participating in cross country and is looking forward to being a wrestling manager. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Call Yearbook and Sports Editor for The Guidon. She hopes to one day attend the University of Kansas and major in Exercise Science.

Paige Coffman: Photographer

Paige Coffman is 16 years old and is a junior. Paige is the a photographer and this is her first year in newspaper. In her spare time she likes to read and spend time with her friends and family. After high school Paige hopes to go to KU and be a school counselor.

Rachel Moravek: Cartoonist/Staff Reporter

Rachel Moravek is a junior this year and has been a member of the newspaper staff for three years. She has been the paper’s cartoonist since she was a freshman and began her first year of staff reporting when she was a sophomore. In her spare time Rachel enjoys reading science fiction novels and spending multiple hours on the internet. After high school Rachel plans on attending Fort Hays State University to major in Psychology in hopes of opening up her own private practice.

Samantha Rohleder: Staff Reporter

Samantha Rohleder is a junior and this is her first year on the newspaper staff. Samantha enjoys being involved in school and she belongs to multiple clubs including Student Council, Leadership Team, Gay-Straight-Alliance, Debate, Forensics and International Club. Samantha also is on the swim team and participates in Musical and Spring Play. She takes all honors classes and hopes to have a future career as either a Cardio-thoracic or Neuro Surgeon, a Medical Examiner, or a Family Physician.

Sara Nansel: Staff Reporter

Sara Nansel is a junior this year. This is her first year of being on the newspaper staff. She enjoys sports and played volleyball freshman year and swam her sophomore year. She is an active member of Book Club. She enjoys reading in her free time and hanging out with friends. She plans on attending Fort Hays State University for her General Education and might go on to Kansas State University. She wants to pursue a career in Economics or Conservation Biology.

Connor Hess: Staff Reporter

This is senior Connor Hess’s first year in newspaper. He participates in swimming, Life Smarts and is a member of National Honor Society. He looks forward to finishing his senior year and going to college.

Aislinn Walters: Staff Reporter

Junior Aislinn Walters is currently in her first year on the Newspaper staff. She is a dedicated saxophonist and participates in the HHS Band as well as the FHSU Jazz and Concert Band ensembles and is an All-State Musician. In addition, she is has been involved in the choir, Spring Play and Musical. Her plans for the future include attending FHSU to get a degree in music performance. In the future, she plans on becoming a jazz saxophonist.

Anna Hickert: Staff Reporter

Anna Hickert is a senior this year. This is her first year as a staff reporter. In her spare time, Anna enjoys reading and decorating cakes with her grandmother whom she spends the summers with learning new and different techniques and styles. Her love of animals and the performing arts will lead her to pursue a career in Veterinary Science specializing in horses with music and theater on the side. Although a specific college has not been chosen yet, Anna intends to choose one that will allow her to follow her chosen path and continue doing the things she loves.

Ashly Arthur: Staff Reporter

Senior Ashly Arthur joined The Guidon staff for the first time this year. She has been involved in Band, Chamber Singers, Concert Choir and fall musical. At district and state competitions she received I ratings for her vocal and snare solos. During her free time she enjoys spending time with family, taking photos, reading and listening to music.
