Homecoming week is defined by several things, such as the bonfire, the football game, the dance, and of course—the spirit days. This year STUCO chose to celebrate fake an injury day, favorite character day, biker/ballerina day, class color day and dress-up day.

“My favorite part of homecoming week is the spirit days,” said freshman Zaira Azpilcueta. “My favorite spirit day is dress-up day, because the guys will be looking attractive and the girls will be looking pretty.”

Sophomore Isabella Lee also said she enjoyed dressing up for spirit days.

“I liked biker/ballerina day because I have a lot of tutus,” Lee said.

Junior Abby Shubert had a different favorite.

“I liked fake an injury day,” Shubert said. “I had a lot of stuff for it, since I injure myself a lot.”

Sophomore Brandon Davidson also said fake an injury day was his favorite.

“It was fun to see what everyone did with it,” Davidson said.

Senior Seth Junk said Class Color day was his favorite. “It’s the easiest,” Junk said. “And the seniors are doing awesome with it.”

Other students find spirit days as a way to express creativity.

“You don’t get to dress up during other parts of the school year,” senior Caitlin Billinger said. “It’s really fun to be creative with it.”

For some students, spirit days aren’t their favorite part of Homecoming week.

“My favorite part of homecoming week is the game,” senior Preston Weigel said. “It’s a big game, it’s Homecoming. And I like to play football.”

Freshman Adreanne Brown had a different opinion.

“My favorite part is the parade, because you get to sit on a float and have fun waving at people,” Brown said.
