Senior Alex Delton signed a national letter of intent to play at Kansas State University, August 28, 2014

“I’m really excited that I’m officially signed to K-State and that I’m part of a prestigious and good program,” Delton said.

Delton discussed the work that had to be done prior to signing.

“I hope to play professional level after K-State, but get a degree in Kinesiology and eventually coach in the division 1 collegiate level,” Delton said. “A lot of preparation went into to the K-State signing. I always try to get better and compete at a national level; it’s always something I wanted to do.”

Other schools contacted Alex about playing as well.

“Nebraska, Missouri, KU and K-State all tried to convince me, but deep down I really knew what I wanted to be at was K-State,” Delton said.

Football coach Bo Black, who has coached for 19 years, said Delton is not the first player he has seen go on to Division I.

“My first five years were in Dallas, and we had a lot of Division I football players come out of there,”

Black said. “This will be the first quarterback I have ever had sign. It’s going to be exciting to watch him play.”
