Honors classes require responsibility

The best and the brightest are those students in honors classes. However, I wonder how some students in honors classes still have a not-care attitude.
Many of them don’t read the English books, don’t study, don’t get help from teachers and don’t get higher than a C on a test. It baffles me how some of the honors students can be so smart but dumb when it comes to common sense and responsibility.
All students in honor classes are smart but they don’t always allow their intelligence to shine by not fully learning the material before a test.
Honors students are expected to have high expectations and be able to think critically and make connections. However, students who don’t read their English book don’t even allow themselves the chance to think deeper than just the words on the page.
Studying is expected for every class especially before a test. Going into a test without studying would put me in panic mode because I know that I am not as prepared for tests if I don’t study.
When students receive a bad grade on a test they act put out. Really they should have seen it coming when they didn’t study or get help on the subject. In an honors class, students should be comparing how well they did on a test, not how poorly they did.
I always want to be pushed academically because I know that if I am not struggling a little then I am not learning. I think honors students should definitely be pushed academically because they are the future of the country and will be competing with other students to get into great colleges.
