Recent junior English assignment opens an eye

Recently, junior English classes have been studying Puritan life styles as well as watching the modern screen play “The Crucibles” to show the life of a Puritan.

Watching the screen play showed not only Puritan lifestyle but natural human behaviors. One of which being fear.

My eyes were really opened to the points that the movie showed.

If you think about a human’s reaction in any case, it’s almost crazy the way it works. Even to the simplest of tapping and kicking your knee at the doctor’s office.

If we are in a fear of something we naturally jump in incorrect conclusions most of the time.

For example, the shooting that just occurred in Missouri. A young African American and cop were in “conflict” but since the cop happened to be afraid, he used his natural defense technique by shooting which ended up killing the young boy.

There is also the point to make that a lot of minorities are in the United States following their culture and way of life but are targeted. If a woman were to wear a turban to follow her religion some might conclude she is a terrorist because they are afraid.

To be honest, in a sense it just isn’t fair. We should not jump to conclusions because we are afraid, but more importantly we shouldn’t be blaming others to the point of death because we are living in fear.
