Surface turn-in for winter break unnecessary
Every year we have a winter break, and now, every year we have to turn in our devices.
I really don’t see the point in having to turn them in over break. Sure, there are a select group of people that need to have things fixed, but those people can leave their Surfaces if they want.
Others, along with myself, have a lot of stuff on our devices that I believe we would find handy over the break.
There are a bunch of apps you can download to entertain yourself if you happen to have to travel for the holidays. Or, if you are staying home, you could snuggle up and enjoy watching Netflix in bed with your device. If you really wanted to, you could even study notes that you might have taken on the device.
There are endless things that you could use your device for, and honestly what’s the worst that could happen if we were to have them over this break?
Even if you were to damage the device while on break, you would just have to pay for a replacement. That goes for whenever you break anything though. If you were to break your device at school that doesn’t change the fact that you would have to get a replacement.

I agree. I am one of the only people who seem to not have a problem with my surface and i would like to take it home during this winter break and use it for personal uses.

I don’t really want to give up my device. I have a lot of things i need to do over break. Like find job opportunities, and i can not do that if i don’t have my device.

I agree with the last paragraph completely. Students with no issues should be able to take their devices home – but any damage to it should make them 100% liable.
