Swimming preparation requires hard work, dedication

“Starts are very important in any race because the better the start, the more leverage you have against other swimmers,” state qualifier Ana Goodlett said. “One bad start can mess up an entire race.” Goodlett frequently practices starts to improve her performance in races. “To get my focus before a race, I look at who I’m up against and create a goal to beat them and improve my time,” Goodlett said.
