Cross Country at Rimrock

Varsity boys cross country had one medalist at Rimrock.  Senior Seth Tophoj finished fifth out of 260 runners.  Tophoj’s time was 16:47.

The rest of the boys running for varsity were seniors Eli Fort (18:03) and Danny Mulkey (20:23), junior Dallas Kaiser (18:55), sophomores Joshua Brungardt (19:37) and Blake Mathews (19:40), and freshman Kendall Kandt (18:24).

“I was really excited that we were able to take the whole team to Rimrock,” Jerold Harris said. “To be able to attend a meet where there were approximately 3,000 runners was really exciting.”

Running for junior varsity boys were freshman Jacob Booth (21:09), sophomores Alec Webb (20:17) and Steven Vancil (23:13), juniors Kevin Arnhold (21:30) and Derek Stiles (22:26), and senior Ky Schiebler (21:52).  Their race consisted of around 245 runners.

Varsity girls also had a medalist.  Senior Bailey Zimmerman placed 20th out of 180 runners.  Her time was 16:52.

Also running for varsity girls were freshmen Wendy Zimmerman (18:27) and Shelby Matlock (19:11), sophomores April Johnson (18:08) and Kylee Filley (19:00), junior Paige Lunsford (18:35), and senior Kelli Oppliger (19:49).

“I felt that we stepped up and competed extremely well at Rimrock, one of the nicest courses in the nation,” Harris said. “To see Seth and Bailey come away with medals in this race was really fun to watch.”

Junior varsity girl runners were freshmen Reagan Kaiser (20:29), Shae Biskie (20:38), and Alysia Arnhold (21:30), sophomores Kaitlin Gulley (20:37) and Chelsie Schoendaller (21:05), and junior Kaylee McGann (20:55).
