The boys basketball team suffered a heart-breaking loss Friday night at Liberal, when redskins senior Jade Cathey hit a 25-footer as time expired to win, 44-41.
The Indians were down 41-36 with 45 seconds left when senior Trey Herman hit a three-pointer to bring the game within two.
With eight seconds left in the game, senior Charles Howell intercepted a bad pass and scored two points.
Cathey then came down the court and heaved up the desperation shot to win the game.
Herman had a career high with 17 points, while senior Zack Gaughan had 12 points.
The next game is Feb. 15 at Abilene.
