Friday night’s boys basketball game against Great Bend ended 58-49 in favor of Hays, resulting in the Indians getting a home game for substate play against the Panthers.
The scoring was spread out among three seniors during the game with senior Seth Tophoj having 15, senior Zack Gaughan with 14, and senior Chris Schultz with 14.
This scoring helped the team to its 11th win of the season and to finish 3-4 in WAC play.
Throughout the game, the team stayed calm having only 11 turnovers for the game and starting out 12-of-12 from the free throw line.
At halftime of the game the Indians were up by nine and never allowed Great Bend to get closer than seven points in the second half.
The Indians open substate play at 7p.m., Thursday, March 3 versus Great Bend.
