Boys basketball team gets a win Dodge City

The boys basketball team beat the Dodge City Red Demons 48-39 on Feb. 21.

Dodge City started the game with two unanswered two-point shots. Hays answered right back with a big three-pointer followed by a free throw to tie the game.

The Red Demons put themselves back in the lead by three, Hays would tie the game 9-9 then take the lead 12-9 to end the first quarter.

The Indians extended their lead 14-9 to start the second quarter. Hays pushed their lead to as high as seven and kept a lead for the rest of the quarter, but only lead by two ending the half. D

odge City tied the game up to start the third quarter, but Hays answer right back going back up by five.

The Red Demons made a comeback to take the lead by two for the last time in the game. The Indians hit a buzzer beater three to end the third quarter.

Hays wouldn’t look back pushing their lead up to 10 the largest lead of the game. Hays won the game finishing the Red Demons off 48-39.

The Indians’ next action will be Feb. 24 at home.
