Baseball defeats Great Bend Panthers in double header

The Indian baseball team defeated the Great Bend Panthers in a double header on April 25.

The first game was close, with a  score of 2-1. Runs were made by senior Jace Armstrong and sophomore Cody Peterson. Winning pitcher on the game was sophomore Treyton Riggs. Riggs also had the only RBI of the game for the Indians.

Taking an early lead in the second game, the Indians scored five runs during the second inning and six runs during the third inning. The final score of the game was 13-2.

Senior Tyrone Wynn had three runs, sophomores Cody Peterson, Treyton Riggs, and William Sennett each scored two runs. Senior Jace Armstrong, juniors Cole Murphy, Dawson Harman, and Trey VanPelt scored one run each. Murphy was the winning pitcher for the game.

Wynn had three RBIs during the game, senior Grant Coffman, Riggs, Murphy and Harman all had two RBIs and Armstrong had one.

The Indian baseball team’s next action is a makeup home game against Dodge City on April 28.
