The Indians football team opened their season up on Sept. 1 against the Scott City Beavers at home. The Indians fought tough through the game, but fell to the Beavers, 29-8.
The first quarter was scoreless between the two teams. During the second quarter, the Beavers took a 3-0 lead off a 26 yard field goal. Approaching halftime, senior Hunter Brown intercepted a pass at the three yard line followed by a Beaver interception that was returned for a touchdown. The Beavers earned the extra point giving them a 16-0 lead.

Two plays after the fumble, junior Will Sennett completed a pass to junior Mason Ibarra for the Indians first touchdown of the game and the season.
