Cross Country team runs in home meet

The girls cross-country team had three girls place in the top 20 and one place in the top five. Sophomore Yesenia Maldonado placed fourth. The boys team had two runners in the top 10 and one that placed second. Freshman Dawson VonFeldt took home second place for the boys.

Maldonado placed with a time of 23:15:00. Two Hays girls followed a few places behind her. Senior Tana Herreman and freshman Claire Shippy placed 11th and 12th. Shippy has placed in two out of her three meets.

“I am very satisfied with my own and my teams performance overall because everyone has been trying their best during the meets.” Shippy said.

Vonfeldt ran the race in a time of 18:42:90 and took home second place. Short after followed sophomore Justice Dotts in seventh place.

“We are very pleased with the efforts of our Indian harriers today has they battled through a very hot 96 and windy 30 mph day today,” coach Harris said.
