Maldonado, Herreman Compete in State Cross Country

Sophomore Yesenia Maldonado races toward the finish of the home race.

Sophomore Yesenia Maldonado and senior Tana Herreman ran in the state cross country race in Wamego. Maldonado finished in 21:08 and placed 27th. Herreman finished in 22:11 and placed 71st.

“I feel pretty content that state was my last race because I originally thought Regionals would be my last. I never made it to state individually,” Herreman said. “I thought in the middle of Regionals that this could be my last race, so I picked it up because I didn’t want that to be my last.”
