The Lady Indian basketball team is continuing to prove their winning record of 7-1 after the team’s victory against the Great Bend Panthers on Jan 9.

After the first quarter, the Indians were up 11-5 against the Panthers, although the Indians would start the game out with the lead, they would not stay in the lead throughout the entirety of the game.

The Indians would put up 14 points in the second quarter, outscoring the Panthers who only scored nine points in the second quarter. This put the Indians up 25-14.

The Indians would still have the in the third quarter, even thought the Panthers would outscore the Indians. The Panthers outscored the Indians in the fourth quarter as well, forcing the teams to go into overtime, 49-49. The Indians would take the lead in overtime, and finish the game up 62-53.

Leading the team to the win in scoring was junior Savannah Schneider with 19 points, junior Mattie Hutchison with 11 points, sophomore Tasiah Nunnery 10 points, junior Kallie Leiker nine points, junior Jaycee Dale five points, and sophomores Isabel Robben and Brooke Denning with four points.

Leading offensive rebounds was Schneider with four rebounds. Leading assists was Leiker with four.
