The library was recently awarded a Midwest Energy Community Fund grant of $999. This grant has enabled teachers to have a program offering classroom videos on demand. It is a web-based service that can be utilized with Moodle.

“This program provides current teaching films, short and long, on almost all subject areas,” librarian Elizabeth Harris said. “There are 10,000 full length videos and 130,000 short clips. Each year the content is updated with 1,000 more new programs.”

The program can be found on the library webpage under “Teacher Resources”.

“It makes me really excited because companies I would normally order from individually are used in this program,” Harris said. “Now, I can use it all in one. It’s also great because you can embed the video and cite it for projects.”

Harris says the content is great so far.

“The small clips are helpful for teachers to reinforce their point on what they are teaching,” Harris said. “Most teachers don’t want a full movie.”

Providing current videos to teachers has been a struggle for Harris in the past.

“This program helps me help the teachers in our school,” Harris said. “I’m totally jazzed.”
