Animal Alliance Partners is a non-profit organization that was put together to do mobile spay-neuters across Kansas. It’s a new program that is working fast to make a name for itself.

The organization begin its life with a bang on Sunday.

“Total cats were 81,” Dr. Jessica Braun said.

The number corresponds to how many cats were spayed and neutered this past weekend. That number means a lot of people helped.

Volunteers include Jessica Braun, Meghan Ruck, Kristine Buchholz, sophomore Isabelle Braun, senior Cameron Jensen, freshman Trinity Quint, freshman Emma Buchholz, Addie Braun, Mabel Braun, Curt Braun, Zan Bertolino, and Matt Barringer.

Buchholz learned about the event the Friday before and decided it was something she would enjoy doing.

“It sounded fun,” Buchholz said.

Buchholz volunteers for other vet projects since her mom, Kristine, is a vet tech. At this particular clinic she did something new.

“I wrote certificates for rabies,” Buchholz said.

That particular job was her favorite part.

Two other students decided they could donate their time for a good cause.

“I wanted to help out and see what it’s like because I want to be a vet when I’m older,” freshman Trinity Quint said.

Quint attended with Buchholz and found that what could have been an ordinary Sunday could be fun.

“I had a great time,” Quint said.
