In today’s society, anyone who owns any form of computer is subjected to joining a multitude of social media sites.

With the fall of MySpace, a popular website from 2005 to 2008, many social media sites have arisen.

Some of the most popular sites in 2015 include Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.

Freshman Cade Swayne said his favorite website to use on a regular basis is Facebook.

“I’m not really a social media fan,” Swayne said. “But I do go on Facebook more than other sites. Facebook is more for family, Twitter is more of a friend thing and I have never been on Tumblr.”

Swayne said he checks Facebook daily on his phone or computer.

Freshman Zachary Wyse and sophomore Dawson Rooney said they also prefer Facebook.

“I probably use Facebook for one hour a week,” Wyse said. “I like it because it is easier to see and talk with your friends and family.”

Rooney said Facebook keeps him more connected with his family.

“It helps you to know when your friend’s birthdays are,” Rooney said. “I think Facebook is best for sharing little things that you think are cool and funny, maybe for communication with friends.”

Junior Chailynn Sennett said she favors Twitter.

“I probably spend six plus hours on Twitter,” Sennett said. “I use it to talk to people that I have met and grown close to, even if they live eight states away. I use Facebook the least. I just don’t have much use for it, my family lives in town and I can text my friends.”

Senior Elizabeth Emerson said her favorite site to use is Tumblr.

“I like it because I don’t know many people from school on it,” Emerson said. “It’s nice to not have to deal with people from school all the time. I think I spend around half an hour a day on Tumblr, maybe more.”

Senior Aaron Jeffus said he doesn’t feel the need to use more than one social media site.

“I guess I really only use Facebook,” Jeffus said. “I don’t have an account on Tumblr or Twitter because I don’t need to use more than one site.”

Junior Jacob Hecker said he doesn’t like to use any of those websites.

“I really could care less about someone posting how they feel,” Hecker said. “Only parents use Facebook, fanboys and fangirls use Tumblr, and celebrities use Twitter. I do not fit into any of these categories so I use none of them.”
