One Monday it could be sunny and 70 degrees and by Friday the weather changes to blizzard conditions. The wintry weather however stay longer than the sunny hours. This kind of weather is typical in Kansas and always seems to affect spring sports season.
On March 28, all spring sports that were expecting to compete were canceled due to the weather conditions outside. For golf, baseball and tennis the reason was the snow that had fallen and covered the ground.
The softball team also had to postpone its game on March 29.
“I am kind of upset we didn’t get to play,” junior Mackenzie Albers said. “We were ready and I think we could’ve done really well. Hopefully we’re as ready on next Monday as we were today.”
The weather predictions for Thursday and Friday are temperatures to be around 70 degrees and sunny. The only sport scheduled to compete on Thursday is swimming.
Although the weather may cancel the actual games, practice still continues for these athletes.
